Yogi Adityanath was born on June 5, 1972, in Panchur, a village in the state of Uttarakhand, India. He comes from a humble background and was named Ajay Singh Bisht at birth.  He is an Indian Hindu monk and politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party who is serving as the 21st and current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh since 19 March 2017.

Entry into Politics:

Yogi Adityanath's political career began as a young member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organization. He later became associated with the BJP and held various positions within the party's youth wing.

Religious and Social Activities:

Yogi Adityanath is associated with the Gorakhnath Math, a prominent religious and spiritual center in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He took the name "Yogi Adityanath" after becoming a Hindu monk and head priest of the Gorakhnath Math.

Political Career:

Yogi Adityanath was first elected to the Lok Sabha (India's lower house of Parliament) in 1998 from the Gorakhpur constituency. He has been re-elected multiple times. He is known for his strong pro-Hindutva and nationalist stance, often associated with the BJP's ideological platform.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh:

In March 2017, Yogi Adityanath was appointed as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, one of India's most populous and politically significant states. His tenure as Chief Minister has been marked by various policy initiatives, including efforts to improve law and order, infrastructure development, and promotion of Hindu cultural and religious activities.
