Kushmanda Devi is the deity of the fourth day of Navratri. She is an eight-armed goddess, holding a kamandal, bow and arrow, lotus flower, a kalash filled with nectar, chakra and gada in her hands. She rides a lion and her posture is extremely powerful.

Kushmanda Devi is also known as the "Goddess of the Creation of Life". She symbolizes the power of creation and development of the universe. She bestows upon her devotees prosperity, knowledge, and good health.

Meaning:

O Goddess Kushmanda, you hold in your hands the pot full of Sura, which is filled with blood. You also hold lotus flowers in your hands. You are a dark woman who wears a sari. You are also known as Katyayani and Bhadrakali. You are full of compassion and you save those who are afraid. You have four arms, which hold a trident, a sword, a mace, and a discus. You grant success in all tasks. I bow to you, who are the embodiment of all power. You always give happiness to your devotees.

Reciting these mantras and stotras will bring the blessings of Goddess Kushmanda. Goddess Kushmanda fulfills all desires and frees devotees from all sufferings.
