The BlackBerry 850 was the company's first handset, debuted in 1999. BlackBerry was formerly known as Research In Motion, or RIM. The BlackBerry 850 was a two-way pager featuring a monochrome screen and a tactile keypad. Because it was primarily made for sending and receiving emails, business professionals who required mobile email access were drawn to it.

BlackBerry went on to produce a number of well-known gadgets that integrated phone and email features, such as the BlackBerry 5810 and BlackBerry 6210. The BlackBerry 8500 series, which included the BlackBerry 8520 and 8530, was one of the most prominent BlackBerry models. These gadgets were well-known in the business and corporate world for their recognizable QWERTY keyboards and push email features.

BlackBerry changed and released a number of smartphone models over time, such as the BlackBerry Torch, BlackBerry Bold, and BlackBerry Curve series. The BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service, strong security features, and physical keyboards of these devices were well-known.

With the popularity of iOS and Android smartphones, BlackBerry's market share did, however, begin to decline, and the company finally turned its attention from producing hardware to offering software and security solutions. With its shift to becoming a software and security company, BlackBerry's recognizable devices came to an end of an era.
